Aiptek A-HD 720P Camcorder Black Screen?

atom_rulez

My camcorder's screen has turned black and I have found no way to reverse it. The camera was open it a video was playing I looked away and the screen had turned black. When plugged into my computer it would not recognize my camera. When normally working it the light on the back would start out red, when the camera is closed, when opened the light turns green then when closed it turns blue and syncs with the computer. It is stuck on green, I also took the SD card out and plugged it into the computer, it worked. But after removing and placing back in it would not recognize the card. I have tried this on my laptop and desktop, think you can help?
Also I need to retrieve my files from the SD card.

Answer
The best thing for you to do is check your warranty card. You will probably get a free repair, or better yet, a free new camcorder.

720p decent camcorder around $169?

Alex

I'm trying to find a decent camcorder that shoots no less than 720p and has decent audio for around $169. I looked at the Toshiba Camileo H30 but I heard it has REALLY bad sound quality.

Are there any? Regular camcorders, pocket camcorders, anything? It's going to be a Christmas gift.

Answer
I've used a Sanyo VPC GH3 and it has good sound quality, not the best however.

anyone us the aiptek 720p camcorder?

drunkenchi

It is HD and very cheap, I am looking for something to get good home video of my dog. I know one reason its cheap is no picture stabilization. I just want to know how the picture quality is.

I want it clear...obviously. That is all I care about, clear picture, I don't need any features.

Thanks

Answer
I have the camcorder, and I can say it's very good for it's price. It does have nice video. I can say a lot about it, but a video is worth a thousand words, so here's a sample:

http://www.vimeo.com/477798

The video is very good in daylight. It is good in indoor light. It is starts to show graininess in very low light, but it isn't a huge issue because it's so fine.

The only problem with the camera is the audio - it is mono, and not the best sounding. The mic is too sensitive, so it picks up a lot of noise. Not horrible, but not superb. If you're the DIY type, however, it's really easy to solder on a microphone line in port. Just google it.

Good luck. (and search aiptek a-hd on vimeo for more samples - their the closest to actual quality).

why does my Riviera 720p HD Camcorder say out of memory!?!?!?!?!?! ASAP?

Answer
Does your camcorder have internal memory? If it does, it will be very small and maybe that is what you have used up. Refer to your manual.

Your new card might be corrupt or just bad. Have you tried it in any thing else?

Also you should format the card in the camcorder before you use it.

Make sure you are using the right card, example, if you put a 16G card in and your camera doesn't take 16G.

I want to make sure that the Polaroid HD 720p USB Digital Camcorder has a built in camera in it that takes pictures aside from shooting videos before I purchase this product. I looked online at the Polaroid website and the information gave about this product sounded pretty vague. Please advise. Thanks!

Answer
Yes, pictures simply shoot from videos. It's always been that way and always will no doubt stay that way, too

My brand new out of the box Insignia 720p HD Camcorder will not turn on unless it is plugged into the wall.?

SJwpStuden

My brand new out of the box Insignia 720p HD Camcorder will not turn on unless it is plugged into the wall. When I plug it in, it does the chime noise and all and I can record, take pictures and everything. But If I unplug it from the wall it won't turn on at all. Any ideas?

Answer
It sounds like you either have a bad battery, or with some devices you have to charge the battery for 12-24 hours before you use it. Check the manual to see if that's the issue.
