PEACHES
So I was doing this school project with a camcorder (canon fs300) and I plugged the usb in (usually it works for pictures) and usually it pops up as CANON FS300 but this time it only said Removable Disk F and it only works for pictures.
I need to put the videos on to burn for a CD for class! HELP :(
Answer
Dont use any progs apart from explorer, open the drive and look for the videos, not sure what format they are going to be in (with out searching) maybe you are trying to use WMM or something that does not support the video format.
try the camera in another USB port you could even turn off your computer and restart it see if that helps/

How to import videos onto iMac from Canon FS100?

Elise
I have a digital camcorder (Canon FS100) and I recorded a video on it and some pictures but whenever I attach it to the computer, only the pictures can go on and when I try to import videos, it says I need a different cable, which I don't have. Is there another way to import these videos on the computer? Thanks.
Answer
The Canon FS100 is flash memory based. The easiest way is to get a card reader and connect it to your Mac's USB port... Then take the SD card out of the camcorder and put it in the card reader. Copy the video files (I think they are MOD files) to your Mac.
You did not tell us which Mac or version of iMovie... but chances are good that you will need to conver (transcode) those MOD files before iMovie can do anything with them.
MPEG StreamClip
http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/video/mpegstreamclip.html
is a good one - there are many others.
After the MOD files are converted to MOV or MP4 or DV format video, quit the transcoder. Launch iMovie and drag the converted clips to the clips pane or the event area for editing.
That import process you tried to use is for miniDV tape based camcorders that use firewire connection - your camcorder does not connect that way (to any computer) becasue it does not have a DV port.
