I was hoping to get a video camera for my birthday and i was wondering whats the best kind thats not higher than 250

Well as a cinematographer I have used a lot of cameras but it narrows down to only a few I'd suggest for under $250. First is Somy DCR-SX45, It's about $200. I am
currently using one of theses as a secondary camcorder that I take everywhere instead of taking my Canon XLH1 everywhere.
The second camera I'm gonna suggest is waterproof which is the Kodak Playsport (Zx5), about $159.00. I use this camera when skiing/snowboarding, canoeing/kayaking, swimming, and anytime it is suppose to rain.

1. Calligraphy
2. Craft-making [I know a shaykh who makes beautiful frames, halal pictures, and even Qu'ran verses from wood, and then paints it very beautifully and either sells it, gives it as gifts, or uses it to decorate his house].
3. I ride motorcycles :-) Vroom Vroom!
4. Video games [There are some awesome video games out there... like Halo for XBOX doesn't even have music except human voices! It's cooooool!]
5. I like to go cave-diving [also called spelunking]... There are lots of "Grotto's" in just about every state [these are organized online groups that explore caves and practice caving techniques...it's a lotta fun!]
6. Almost any nature stuff... fishing, camping, white-water rafting, kayaking/canoeing, hiking, etc. Girls can do this stuff easily.
7. Get involved in some Dawah stuff with your Masjid. If there isn't any Dawah stuff, start some!
8. Is reading a book considered liesure activity? Anyways it's always good to increase that knowledge!
9. Make some amatuer short films... get a simple video editing software program like Adobe Premiere Elements and a hand-held camcorder, and you are ready to go!
10. Learn a new skill, like working on cars n stuff... who knows you might like it!
That's all I got for now, but that should be enough to get you started!
