Which one is the Best of the Best Handycam With clear 1080i Hd recorder and all latest updations?

Manoj K

I am planning to buy a new handy-cam. I am expecting the top rating handy-cam in India with all latest features, especially 1080i high clarity high definition recording or above version and also with still capturing. Expecting the guidance

Answer
"Handycam" is Sony's brandname for all their consumer-grade and "prosumer"camcorders. The SOny HDR-FX1000 captures low-compression DV and HDV format video to miniDV tape and captures JPEG still images to SDHC cards.

With a LARGE lens filter diameter (72mm) and LARGE 1/3" 3CMOS imaging chip array, it will do very well under low light conditions (any camcorder can do well under good lighting conditions).

With separate manual zoom and focus rings on the lens barrel, manual audio control on the OUTSIDE of the camcorder (not buried in a menu), LANC port, headphone jack and several other externally accessible controls, the biggest difference between it and a pro-series camcorder is that it has only a stereo 1/8" (3.5mm) audio input (just use a XLR adapter from BeachTek or juicedLink)... and it does not do HDCAM format...

Of course, to get the video from this camcorder's digital tape into your computer, this assumes your computer has a firewire port... and you can add the optional external flash memory recorder from Sony if you don't want to use digital tape.

If you mean to include other manufacturers other than Sony, please let us know that...

what is the best digital camera to buy (in India) between the range of Rs5000 and Rs7000?

Q. i need a digital camera between the range of Rs5000 to Rs7000.
and i wanted to ask if a digital camera can record a video or not?

please help me with this one
\

peace.

Answer
First, your shooting style; if you're looking for a simple, quality point and shoot that you can just turn on, shoot and make good pictures w/o having to be a pseudo pro shutterbug? If thats the case, for about 7000Rs you could get a Canon PowerShot SD1200 IS. Great camera for the $$, great image quality, performance, etc. ( Has Image Stabilization which helps eliminate those "blurry" shots). I find Canon to be top notch, and I've owned Panasonics,Olympus and Nikon products. Note- if you bargain hunt (eBay, e.g.) this model can be found for less, around 6000Rs ($130 US dollars or so).
Good luck!!
also- this camera shoots video, with sound ..."The PowerShot SD1200 IS' Movie mode can capture VGA and QVGA movies with sound, at 30 frames per second for up to one hour (or 4GB per clip). Video quality is pretty good, easily replacing the family camcorder for simple video snippets"

Camcorders?

Marianne k

What is the best brand for digital camcorders? JVC? SAMSUNG? ETC?

Answer
For years, I've done just fine by JVC, Canon, Sony, and Panasonic. I currently use a Panasonic camcorder (PV-GS65) at home, and have recommended a Panasonic professional camcorder (AG-HVX200) for a university TV organization, and we've been happy with both. Those cameras were selected for having the features we needed at the best price available. I'm not necessarily saying "go with Panasonic." There are other great brands out there, and any one of them is good if it meets your needs. It all depends on what you need to do with your camcorder.

Look at reviews and specifications. What do you want to do with your camcorder? Do you want to try editing, or do you simply want the easiest way to show video to your family? Do you plan on doing a lot of night shooting, or is spectacular performance in good light enough for you? Do you want a variety of manual control options? Where do you plan on using the camcorder? Do you plan on using an external microphone with your camcorder?

In short, find out exactly what you plan to use it for, and find out which one best meets your needs. The major brands have all been doing this for a long time, and all have a tendency to put out quality products.

Best Camera/ Camcorder?!?!?

AsianSwagg

I'm a Youtuber(Check out my channel on youtube -MooseandBurrito) and I do unboxing videos, reviews, gameplay, hacks/glitches, comedy sometimes, and I need a good full HD camcorder for recording.
I want a camera or a camcorder that is:
Less than $350
Can auto focus
Has full HD of 1080p
Has low lighting sensor
Has a reasonably good zoom
Nice Design
Can go on a tripod
And maybe some cool other features but those above are what I really want and need.

What are your suggestions?

Answer
Getting a HD camcorder is taking a step backward in Video Quality. HD camcorders Interpolate the video, which means of every 25 frames of video, 4 or 5 frames are taken by the lens assembly, the other frames in between these are filled in by the camcorder inner circuitry, thus giving you not true video. MiniDV tape camcorders give every frame of every shot and usually cost less.

http://simplevideoediting.com/learn/part1_camcorder_choices.htm

http://simplevideoediting.com/learn/part2_connect_camcorder.htm

Consumer level HD camcorders have 4 problems. 1) Blurry, fuzzy, out of focus areas closely around people in videos taken by consumer level HD camcorders. 2) Any movement, even a wave or lifting an arm, while in front of a recording consumer level HD camcorder, results in screen ghosts and artifacts being left on the video track, following the movement. Makes for bad video, sports videos are unwatchable. 3) These Consumer level HD camcorders all have a habit of the transferred to computer files are something you need to convert, thus losing your HD quality, to work with your editing software. 4) Mandatory maximum record times - 1 hour, 30 minutes, 8 minutes, 3 minutes â four different times advertised as maximum record time for some consumer level HD camcorders. No event I have ever been to is that short. Either take multiple camcorders or pack up with out getting the end of the event on video.

MiniDV is currently the most popular format for consumer digital camcorders. MiniDV camcorders are typically more affordable than their HDD and DVD counterparts. Each MiniDV tape will typically hold an hour of footage at normal recording speed and quality. MiniDV tapes are available for purchase at not only electronic and camera stores, but also at drugs stores and grocery stores, making them easy to find while your on vacation. There are literally hundreds of MiniDV camcorders available; both in standard and high-definition. And add the fact that to get a HD camcorder that could produce better video quality footage, one would have to spend in excess of $3500 for that camcorder that could produce higher quality video.

Good HD Panasonic camcorder?

this is the camcorder page on panasonic's web page.
personally i don't like panasonic and id go for sony but your choice.
it really depends what you want the camera for. if you want to take pictures and videos of memories that you wont want to edit much or preferable at all then you should definately go for a minidisc camcorder or a dvd camcorder (they are the same except one has a standard size dvd and one has a minidisc) they have pretty much no difference except the actual camera can be smaller if you get a minidisc one. ok so if you want to edit your footage then id get a harddrive one. the reason for this is the discs in most of those cameras are too advanced for stndard editing programs (ive got one) and that makes EXTREMELY hard to find a program to edit with. but i do prefer the disc cameras and have found a program to edit them which i can give you the name of if you would like. also a little tip if you are looking at getting a disc one. if you are shotting takes on something turn the camera off between each one (im not sure if this is panasonicbut a lot do this). otherwise all the stopped and started takes go in one folder and that doesnt sit well with most editing programs where as if they are in different files then they are far easier to handle and to get the one you actually want rather than having them all run after one another without a break.
if you click the type of camera you want on this page then you will get many examples in your price range.
good luck and email me if you need help with something
xx

does anyone like Panasonic camcorder??

dbcanary

i just bought a new panasonic camera and its not recongized by my computer and i was looking through yahoo! answers and i discovered that alot of users are having trouble with the brand Panasonic. i was just wondering if anyone likes them plz comment. easy way to get points all you have to do is tell me what you think!! and could you maybe tell me a good camecorder to startout with under $300 -- thats not panasonic
thnks much!!^^

Answer
Users are having trouble with Panasonic as much as they're having trouble with other brands. I'm able to solve most of these problems; most often, they deal with not having the right cable or hookup. Your problem is one of these. If you get the right cable and hookup, you're going to love this thing. Trust me.

I LOVE the Panasonic camcorders I work with. I use the PV-GS65 at home, it renders colors beautifully, and there are no problems using it with our computers. My old school bought a whole bunch of Panasonic camcorders with no problems. My old school's TV organization bought a Panasonic AG-HVX200 at my recommendation. GREAT machine!!!

Step by step, how are you plugging it into your computer? What kind of computer? What cables? What software? I should definitely be able to help you out! Just add a detail onto your question, and I'll add some more to my answer.

EDIT: I saw your other question, and answered it fully. You DON'T NEED TO RETURN YOUR CAMCORDER! No matter what DV camcorder you buy, you're probably going to need to get your computer to work with Firewire (if it doesn't already!). This is not only for Panasonic camcorders. It can be Canon, JVC, Sony, you name it. If you're working with DV, Firewire is the best way to go (it's often the only way to go!). So, read my answer to your other question, and it should solve your issue. If it doesn't, let me know.

What is the best camcorder to get for low light recording?

fahhkinahh

I'm looking for a compact camcorder (nothing larger than a MiniDV camcorder) that records really good high definition video, even in situations where there is very low light. I'm not looking for something that can actually see stars in the sky (although that would be great) but I'm looking for something that offers the clearest picture.

Sound is also a major issue here. I was thinking about getting the Zoom Q3HD and using just that, but I was also thinking that maybe I'd be better off with using a much better camcorder and connecting the Zoom to the line-in port of the other camcorder (if possible) that way I have the perfect mix of great picture quality and great sound quality.

What do you think my best approach is? I'm looking for something that would be good with recording during concerts and situations where the volume can be very loud. Most cameras distort horribly. Do you think the Zoom Q3HD would be sufficient even for low-light situations? I think the majority of video quality is dedicated mostly to the audio and not so much the video, although 1080p is really good.

Answer
The "best camcorder" for good low light video capture is one with LARGE lenses and LARGE imaging chip system. There is no pocket cam or consumer cam that has these.

The large lenses let light in to get to the imaging chip, the imaging chip processes and digitizes the image. 60mm lens filter diameter and 1/4" 3CCD (or 3CMOS) imaging chip system would be minimums. The Sony HDR-FX7 meets these criteria, but will not do well in darkness (as opposed to "very low light"). The HDR-FX1000 will do better.

The lens diameter on the Zoom Q3HD is smaller than 30mm and the single imaging chip is smaller than 1/6". It is designed to do well with audio (manual audio gain control) - and video capture capability is a convenience feature for decent lighting conditions. Since you are looking for good concert capture, your approach on the audio is good - but generally, stage lighting is good so low-light behavior of the camcorder is not so important... in which case the Q3HD should be fine.

What is a cheap way to get a low light camcorder?

joe h

I am a college student and i dont have a lot of money. My friends and i like to go out at night and i want to record some of our adventures. The quality doesnt have to be super. I have a fair experience with electronics so hacking a camcorder is not such a big deal. but i would rather buy

Answer
Camcorders have hardware chips built into the board of the unit that enables them to have a variety of features, including low light sensitivity. It is not cost effective to replace the chips that are built into the board, and not possible without reverse engineering the board itself.

You may look at the LUX rating of a camcorder, whether you have control over the F-Stop of the lens, Gain settings and/or shutter settings - all of which adjust how much light is let through the lens.

I shot some stuff on a Sony VX2000 a few years back - pretty good low light capabilities. The Canon XL2 wasn't as good for low light as it had a slower lens. The Panasonic DVX100 has a good low end.

When you shoot low light, make your shutter speed as open as possible (1/24, 1/40, etc), make your F-stop open as much as possible (1.8, 2, etc), and crank your Gain settings up all the way. If the camera doesn't label the above settings chances are there's comperable settings to get you what you want. Just open up everything all the way.

I just bought the Sony HC-1 and it has terrific low light capabilities - even a night vision mode that works at close range!

I'd hit up craigslist for someone with an old DV camcorder. Make sure you test it and make sure it'll give you the low light quality you want.

dvd-r or mini-dv best for home camcorder?

charles915

Answer
An excelent question. Trust me, I'll get to an answer eventually.
The camcorder market is in flux right now. New formats are popping up. Whatever you purchase today will be obsolete in 3 years or less.
All the big players are looking at solid state storage. That is, a flash memory system just like our familiar Compact Flash card or SD Memory card except with substantially more memory.
With some new molecular stacking technique, they can currently produce a 30GB Compact Flash card.
The market for that is currently for MP3 players and PDAs.
The goal is to produce a 100GB to 200GB Flash Memory at an affordable price. I figure that should take about 2 years tops.
I predict that camcorders of 2009 will be the same size as today's compact digital still cameras. They will do HDTV video, megapixel stills, MP3 audio and could possibly also be your cell phone. They will have removeable media that will plug directly into your computer's memory card reader slot. They probably will have wireless BlueTooth transmission for playback to your HDTV.
So, what should you buy today? That's easy.... Mini-DV.
Here's why....
The DVD-R format is only about 5 years old. By my calculation above, it should have an 8 year life span.
The miniature hard drive format's life is even shorter.
Mini-DV has been around for at least a dozen years, possibly longer. So, if we get a minimum of 15 years for the format, that means there is 15 years worth of accessories, tutorials, websites, user's groups, used and rental equipment and 15 years worth of price reductions and upgrades. Those are a lot of good resources that you won't get with DVD-R.
Besides, there is no HD-DVD camcorder while there are several good HDTV Mini-DV camcorders out there.
