top 30 camcorders image

I have a JVC camcorder which records in MOD format. I simply cannot convert what it records into any useable format. The only place I can use the files is on YouTube. Can anybody help???? ?Very frustrated!
I'm trying to use MOD files with Windows Movie Maker and it rarely works.

I have the JVC Hard Drive camera as well (30 GB), so I know what you are going through. I am making a DVD for an organization I am a part of and nothing edits the MOD files, go figure right. I know it is round about, but here is the solution I have come up with.
1 - - Download and install ConvertXtoDVD (http://www.vso-software.fr/products/convert_x_to_dvd/). Then drag and drop the files into the top left pane and click convert. It will start converting, take about on hour plus (it will give a better estimate than me).
2 - - In the meantime, put a disk in your DVD burned. When it is done converting, it will automatically burn the files to a video DVD.
3 - - You then take the burned DVD and 'rip' it with a burner. Just Google DVD ripper and you will find one.
- - *LEGAL STUFF* - - I want to remind anyone and everyone that ripping your OWN DVD's is not illegal. Just make sure that you do NOT break copyright laws and we are all easy peasy. Now that i have put that in the staff can't get too testy.
Needless to say, this will output your MOD files into whatever format you decided on (avi is my favorite).

Also, the main camera i have in mind right now is the canon xh a1. but i was wondering, do the canons 60d or 7d capture better video then the xh a1?
